The Pitshanger Fun Run |
|
The Pitshanger Fun Run was first held in 2005.
Repeat performances each year since have placed
this event firmly in the sporting and social
calendar for the Pitshanger area. There are two
Fun Run
courses - 5km for the more athletic (13+), and 2.5km
for children, walkers/joggers of all ages, dogs and
anyone who can't quite face the prospect of 5km.
Both courses start in Pitshanger Lane and end in
Pitshanger Park. |

Fun Run 2011 |
|
The 2011 Fun Run took place on 12th June. The
weather was wet, and rather cool for the time of
year. But nearly 230 people of all ages braved
the conditions to finish one of the two courses
(2.5km and 5km). 2011 saw the return of the
(so far) unbeatable Chris Dettmar after a year off,
and he duly won the 5km event by quite a margin,
once again wearing his trademark skeleton vest.
There were some very respectable times by the
younger runners too, and Alan Lloyd repeated his
success in the over 55 category. |
