Antisocial Behaviour |
|
|
Together with the local Neighbourhood Watch
organisation, the PCA has
encouraged police activity against antisocial
behaviour and
theft from shops. Our Home Beat Officer PC Neil
Roberts conducted several sweeps
during 2003, successfully reducing the problem.
However, the problems erupted again in the early
part of 2004, particularly on and around Pitshanger
Lane. The Police outlined their plans
to tackle antisocial behaviour at a
PCA
public meeting in March 2004. |

Traffic and Parking |
|
| Traffic and parking have consistently
been identified by PCA members as two of the main
local bug-bears. Two public meetings with
Ealing Council's traffic planners have yielded few
results to date. Although there are undeniably
problems, the PCA is already resisting the
introduction of a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ). |

Pitshanger Park |
|
|
The PCA believes Pitshanger Park is the jewel in the
crown of the Pitshanger area. The park has
been the focus for a number of PCA community
projects, including improved play apparatus, new
picnic tables and new gates at the park entrance.
The hitherto untidy state of the River Brent has
been much improved since Ealing Council took on a
contractor to clear the river of rubbish - an
initiative the PCA strongly supports. |

Pitshanger Lane |
|
|
The Pitshanger area owes much of its character to
the quality and range of the shops and restaurants
in Pitshanger Lane. The Lane is also a local
hot-spot for traffic and parking problems, and is
the scene for some antisocial behaviour. The PCA
wants the lane to be as welcoming and beautiful as
possible. We have asked
the council to erect welcome signs at either end of
the Lane, and are considering a "Pitshanger In
Bloom" project. |

|
Public Meetings |
|
|
The PCA holds regular meetings on matters of
local concern. Recent subjects have included
antisocial behaviour, traffic
management, graffiti and crime prevention. We have
also had visits from our local MP and councillors. |
