Local author Jeff Pack’s latest book Our House has taken the local literary scene by storm, rising to top place in the list of bestsellers at the Pitshanger Bookshop. The book is an illustrated history of Jeff’s home in Pitshanger, its various occupants over its 102 year history, the square mile immediately around it, its unusual royal, religious and republican connections and the story of the man who built it – who lost a fortune in property development but died a rich man thanks to his wife’s influence. Sounds like an ideal Christmas gift for anyone interested in the Pitshanger area. Available from all good bookshops, especially, of course, the Pitshanger Bookshop.
And on the subject of books, local artist David Webster has contributed the illustrations for the recently published children’s book The Mary D and the Whale, which is available from Roberts&co.
