News from the last Cleveland Ward Forum: after Ealing Council announced the Kent Gardens CPZ was going ahead based on the consultation carried out last year, it received several complaints about the way in which the consultation process was conducted. The Council didn’t uphold these complaints but a complaint has been made to the Local Government Ombudsman who at present is considering submissions from the complainant and the council. The Council therefore has implementation of the CPZ on hold pending the outcome of the LGO's investigations. It is possible that the LGO may ask for revisions to the scheme or for the consultation to be re-run.
UPDATE: we've heard that following the LGO consideration, the scheme is going ahead. Residents in the zone will be getting notification of traffic orders with work expected in November.
